LINKING INITIATIVES TO OBJECTIVES

I was reading the Star on the topic "The Road to Welfare Unity".

"Klik pada inisiatif 1Malaysia dibawah untuk maklumat lanjut"

According to the webpage, .. [... ]

The  key concept of  1Malaysia is moderation, and it is focusing on
-  integration of all ethics and races.
-  equality
- benefits to be shared by all

The translation and the concept was revealed in the GTP Roadmap chapter 3 and 4 using the following keywords:
- unity of Malaysian,
- Better quality of life.
- High standard of living.
- improve basic rural intrstructure.

In another GTP chapter, it stated that the aim of 1Malaysia are...
- to make malaysia more to be more vibrant, more productive and more competitive and ultimately, to be a great nation.
- malaysian will think themselves as Malaysian first rather than their ethnic origins.

  VIEWING THE INITIATIVES
The people will be having hard time to link the initiatives above to the objectives of 1Malaysia. Look at "Kedai Ikan Rakyat 1Malaysia", "Kedai Rakyat", "Program Susu".

I cannot help but to share the joke about BR1M at one of the "kedai kopi" in a village.  This was the talk by the rubber tappers and rice planters... " what else do Malaysians want, at least I get a few 1000 rm from BR1M, I get nothing from the other parties, I now who to vote in the coming election".

We may be misguided in equating nation development and winning an election..
